Financial Aid Offices in the News

There have been several stories about financial aid in both the television news and the newspapers lately. All Financial Aid Offices across the state of Washington are experiencing delays in processing times.

Here is the current status for the Financial Aid Office at Seattle Central Community College:
• Completed financial aid applications, for 2009-10, have increased 49 percent above all of the 2008-09 school year.

• Students that met the financial aid deadline for fall 2009 (August 10, 2009), have been completed.

• Several hundred applications have been received that have not met the fall 2009 deadline. Our office is currently processing these files.

For faster service, do not send students to a particular staff member in the Financial Aid Office, refer students to the front counter, or have them call the main extension at 206-587-3844.
